Izumo (ideal CV: Satomi Arai) is a Japanese destroyer built in Isogo, Yokohama. Her home port is Yokosuka.
Her main body is currently being upgraded to a light aircraft carrier to be able to carry US fighter aircraft, the F-35B; in 2021, she became the first Maritime Self-Defence Force ship to conduct F-35B landing and take-off trials.
